Abstract Background The role of epigenetic events in gliomagenesis is undoubtful. However, the specific pathological not so clear. It was shown that loss total DNA methylation correlates with higher tumor malignancy and oxidative damage. But promoter many genes reported to be significant for gliomas’ predictive treatment outcome. In carcinogenesis general global hypomethylation focal hypermethylation coexist. aim our project evaluate correlation between selected genes. Material Methods We analysed glioma tissues from 60 patients. For analysis we used radiolabelling method TLC separation nucleotides content estimation phosphoimager. have chosen: MGMT (O-6-Methylguanine-DNA Methyltransferase), MPG (DNA-3-methyladenine glycosylase), GJA1 (Gap junction alpha-1 protein / connexin 43). level evaluated methylation-sensitive high-resolution melting (MS-HRM) method. Results Total reversely correlated brain grade, confirming 5-methylcytosine important step gliomagenesis. From 3 only showed clear low reverse grade. Promoter show both, MPG, but there no link MPG.
